Exquisite & most rare! This marvelous games table by Emile Galle. The top is richly decorated with a masterfully inlay of various woods. Depicting multiple chestnut leaves in different colors. The top is signed Galle in inlaid wood made in 1905-1910 The frame is sculpted from solid walnut with amazing organic lines typical for art nouveau design. The quality & attention to detail on this table are a perfect display of the famous craftsmanship of galle. The bottom also contains a drawer with its original floral stylized bronze grip. These game tables are hard to find and a great addition to any home. You can use it as a side table & turn it into a game table when desired.
Emile Gallé (1846-1904) was a French artist and designer who is primarily known for his work in the Art Nouveau style. He was born in Nancy, France, and was the son of a glassware manufacturer. He studied botany, chemistry, and art in his youth. Gallé's work was characterized by its use of natural forms and themes, including flowers, trees, and animals. His designs often featured vivid colors and intricate patterns, and he was particularly known for his use of the cameo glass technique, which involved etching designs into layers of differently colored glass.
